Brain and spinal cord are the major parts that constitute the CNS which is expanded as a central nervous system.

When it comes to CNS, it is the portion of the nervous system that includes spinal cord and brain.

It gets this name because CNS integrates the information it actually receives from as well as influences and coordinates the activities.
