Phylum Platyhelminthes
The parasitic worms are placed in the phylum phylum platyhelminthes.
This phylum is divided into three classes - class turbellarian, class trematoda and class cestoda.
Class cestoda includes mainly parasitic flat worms commonly called tape worms i.e. Schistosomiasis, Lymphatic filariasis, Ascariasis, Filariasis, Trichinosis etc.
Class turbellarian includes the worms which are independent and are non-parasitic. Ex- planaria, dugesia, graffilla etc.
Class trematode includes the worms which are mainly ectoparasites or internal parasites i.e. flukes, fasciola hepatica etc.
That's it
