THE ISLAND GROUPS => India can be divided into two island groups - Andaman and Nicobar Islands and the Lakshadweep Islands. The Andaman and Nicobar Islands form a group of 572 Islands and are bigger than Lakshadweep Islands. The Lakshadweep Islands are coral islands formed by the skeletons of marine animals called polyps.

THE GREAT INDIAN DESERT => The Great Indian Desert covers a major part on the west of India. It is also called Thar Desert. It is bound by the Aravali Ranges. It covers a major portion of Rajasthan and extends to Pakistan on the west.
