Name the physical quantity whose SI unit is kg-m/s. Also define that quantity.

So here's your answer :-

The physical quantity whose SI unit is kg ms^-1 is momentum.

"Momentum is the quantity of motion contained in an object."

The momentum of of an object is defined as the product of it's mass(m) and velocity (v)

Momentum is denoted by p(vector)

Momentum is denoted by P(vector).

Therefore Momentum = Mass* Velocity.

The momentum of a vector quantity and it's direction is the same as that of velocity of the object.

For example :-

A bull thrown with a hand may not cause injury.

But when the same bullet fired from a gun, it could be fatal.

Thus, an object with a greater velocity produces more impact and hence greater momentum.
