Placenta regulates the amount of the substances entering into the embryo.

It acts as the Semi permeable membrane in case the air is entering into it. It also acts aa the impermeable membrane for those materials which are harmful for the developing embryo.

Placenta performs the number of the function in female during Pregnancy.

Explanation:

This placenta communicates between the mother and the embryo and also it protects the embryo from receiving shocks. It is through this channel that a developing baby gets nutrients and antibodies from the mother.

It also removes the waste from the baby’s blood. The placenta usually attaches itself to the ‘uterine wall’ from where the umbilical cord of the foetus arises.
