The pigment is HAEMOGLOBIN present in the Red Blood Cells.

It’s deficiency will result in a condition where different body parts receive less amount of oxygen.

Haemoglobin has 4 subunits surrounding the central Haem (Iron containing).

Each of which binds to one molecule of oxygen.

Hence 1 molecule of Haemoglobin can attach to 4 molecules of oxygen at a time.
