The river Ganga arises from the gangotri glaciers in Himalayas.

And this place is known as Alaknanda .

Ganga is the largest river in India.

Its length is 2525 km .

It rises from Gangotri glaciers in Himalayas.

It drains into the bay of Bengal and form the Sunder Ban Delta.

It forms the Sunder Ban Delta , world largest delta with the help of Brahmputra.

The head waters of the river Ganga Rises from Gangotri Glacier here it's place of origin is known as Alaknanda.


Here it is known as Bhagirathi.


The place where both Bhagirathi and Alaknanda meet is known as Devpryag.


Devpryag is in Uttarakhand .
