There are many rare flowering phenomena in the plant kingdom but not that rare like Bamboo. Like many plants, Bamboo too has the ability to bloom once in a year, but some bamboo varieties bloom once in between 60 to 130 years by sacrificing its own life for blooming.

Bamboo blooms under three phenomena. The first phenomenon is Annual Flowering which is common in some varieties. Another two phenomena are the Gregarious and Sporadic Flowerings that happen between 60-130 years which cause death in some bamboo varieties.

Even now, Botanists around the world are searching a reason for those two rare phenomena of Bamboo flowering.
