In order to carry out large scale rearing of animals we have to look at the specialized subject of animal husbandry.
Animal husbandry is defined as a sector of agriculture focused on raising animals for their meat, milk, eggs, fibre etc.
Animal husbandry has been carried out for since thousands of years when humans learned to domesticate wild animals.

The real change came at the turn of the Industrial Revolution, when more 'factory farming' methods were employed to improve efficiency by using modern planning methods of rearing.

Some animals which are reared all over the world include, camels, cows, buffaloes, goats, fishes, pigs etc
