(1.)

Nuclear energy originates from the splitting of uranium atoms  in a nuclear reactor the process is called Nuclear Fission.

(2.)

Example of nuclear fuels :

U-235 is a nuclide of uranium, and

Pu-239 is a nuclide of plutonium .

(3.)

Two advantage of using nuclear energy in in place of fossil fuel :

1.
Less fuel offers more energy. It represents a significant save on raw materials but also in transport, handling and extraction of nuclear fuel. The cost of nuclear fuel (overall uranium) is 20% of the cost of energy generated.

2. T
he generation of electricity through nuclear energy reduces the amount of energy generated from fossil fuels (coal and oil). Less use of fossil fuels means lowering greenhouse gas emissions (CO2 and others).

Hope it will helps you.

Okay..well..nuclear energy is mainly generated by the process of NUCLEAR FISSION in which the nucleus of a larger(heavier) atom, say uranium or thorium, when supplied with a force with low energy neutrons can break apart into lighter nuclei..this process releases a large amount of energy which is the so-called nuclear energy..

Also,, nuclear energy can be produced by the process of nuclear fusion, sumtyms, which is the opp. To nuclear fission..

Few examples of nuclear fuels can be, as mentioned, uranium, thorium, plutonium, radium, etc..

The energy producing efficiency of nuclear plants is much more than that produced by burning fossils..
Also, burning fossils leads to air and water pollution and also the exploitation of the environment..
