The  proces happening  here is   diffusion. It  is  the  process  of  intermixing  of  two  or  more  substances  on  their  own.Even  2-3  crystals  of  potassium  permanganate consist  of  millions  of  small    particles   which  dissolve  in  water giving  purple  colour  to  the  solution.
