The wax acts as a fuel when we light the candle and is basically carbon. The carbon combines with oxygen to form another chemical substance, carbon dioxide and water. Also the unburnt carbon is deposited as black substance called soot.
Test for Carbon dioxide (CO2) :
Lime water test- When CO 2 is passed through lime water it turns milky due to formation of insoluble suspension of calcium carbonate.
Ca(OH) 2 (aq) + CO 2 (g) → CaCO 3 (s) + H 2 O (l)
If more carbon dioxide gas is passed then milkiness disappears due to formation of calcium bicarbonate which is soluble in water.
CaCO3 + H2O + CO2 → Ca(HCO3)2
Hope it's help You

Answer:carbon dioxide and water
Explanation:
Wax acts as fuel when we burnt candle in oxygen and is basically , carbon. When carbon react with oxygen it leads to chemical reaction which give rise to the formation of carbon dioxide and water and also unburnt carbon is deposited as black substance called (soot) ....
