When Ethanol C2H5OH is oxidised with mild oxidising agent such as CrO3(Chromic anhydride) in presence of (H+) the product is Ethanal (Acetaldehyde) and water
When ethanol is treated with strong oxidising agent such as warm diluted solution of potassium permanganate (KMnO4) ,the product formed is Ethanoic acidCH3COOH and water(H2O)
