Name the quadrants in which the graph of point p(x,y) lies when
(a) x > 0 and y > 0
(b) x < 0 and y < 0

As in (a) x>0 that is it's positive
y>0 is also positive
In this case p(x,y) lies in first quadrant that is Q1
In (b) according to conditions x<0
y<0 So both are negative...
So they must lie in third quadrant
that is Q3
