The coloured lights form the visible spectrum. As per Wikipedia, "The visible spectrum is the portion of the electromagnetic spectrum that is visible to the human eye." At one end, there's red light; and the other, violet. Red light has the greatest wavelength, whereas violet light has the shortest. From red to violet inclusive, there are other lights of variable wavelengths.
Travelling beyond the two ends of the visible spectrum, we find other regions of light of various wavelengths. Beyond...
a) the red end...
1. infrared
2. microwaves
3. radio
b) the violet end...
1. ultraviolet
2. X-rays
