This continuous movement of the pastoralists allowed the pastures to recover. The Kurumas and Kurubas reared sheep and goats and sold woven blankets.

Kurmas and Khurbas lived in the areas of Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, and Karnataka. They were essentially settled in the southerly part of Deccan plateau.

They raised lamb and goats and use to sustain their lives by selling blankets made of fur. They chiefly exist near to the dense coastal forest and also use to cultivate on small pieces of land.

For the pastoralist communities, it was the modification of monsoon and dried summer which commanded their periodically movement. They managed to move to the coastal areas throughout the dry seasons, and go back to the plateaus when the monsoon arrives.
