The type of rock is known as Igneous rock, it is also known as volcanic rock. Pumice is formed out by volcanic froth, it is a stone which has pores on it like perforations, the tiny pores makes it light and help it to float on water, In india it has a very common use for rubbing the body, it is a soft rock, So, it does not hurts when rubbed on our body, You can see an image given in the above attachment,

On Internet it's definition is:

Pumice is a type of extrusive volcanic rock, produced when lava with a very high content of water and gases is discharged from a volcano. As the gas bubbles escape, the lava becomes frothy. When this lava cools and hardens, the result is a very light rock material filled with tiny bubbles of gas,

You have seen it in traditional Indian bathrooms.

HAVE A NICE DAY!!!

HOPE IT HELPS YOU!!!
