Name the set of conditions under which rate of transpiration is maximum.

1)Surface area of the leaves


2) Water flow through the plant i.e a plant with adequate amount of water transpires at higher rates because the soil provides enough water to flow through the plant.


3)Temperature and humidity.

  • Transpiration is the process of water movement through a plant and its evaporation from aerial parts, such as leaves, stems and flowers.

# Conditions for maximum respiration -

  • Dry atmosphere - water is forced to be pulled out from plant to atmosphere.
  • Humid soil - wet soil results in absorption of more water which in turn causes more transpiration.
  • Day time - more sunlight causes more heat, thus more transpiration happens.
