Hey mate..

Density is defined as Mass per unit volume.

So, SI unit = SI unit of mass/SI unit of volume

= kg/m^3

=kgm-3

This unit is quite large and a chemist often expresses density in g cm-3..

1 kg/m3= 10^-3g/cm3
