If we consider the surface area as the criteria then the smallest cell organelle is ribosome and the largest cell organelle is nucleus in animal cell & vacuole in plant cell. Mostly, ribosomes are not bound by membrane but they can become membrane bound during the protein synthesis.

Chloroplasts contain molecules of chlorophyll. Therefore molecules are smaller than organelles. Combine all of these things and this is our ordering from largest to smallest: Population, organism, tissue, cell, organelle, molecule.
