Name the solution x 2) Write the reaction of it with carbon-dioxide. I think its not cao because it is asked as solution x according to my view:- 1) ----> Ca(OH)2i.e. calcium hydroxide is the solution. 2) Reaction with water:- Ca(OH)2 + Co2====== CaCo3+ H2o.

You are absolutely correct , when CaO is mixed with water it forms Ca(OH)2, CaO cannot react with CO2 to form calcium carbonate, so the solution must be calcium hydroxide to create a reaction
