Answer:

Complete answer: The southernmost part of India is known as the Indira Point. Before being named as Indira Point, after the Indian Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, this point was known as the Pygmalion Point. This point falls in the nicobar group of Islands in the Bay of Bengal and lies at 8 degrees N latitude.

Answer:

The southern most point of India (including all the islands) is Indira Point. It is located in the Great Nicobar tehsil of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands.

But, the southern most point of Indian mainland (i.e. excluding the islands) is Kanyakumari (also known Cape Comorin). It is located in the state of Tamil Nadu.

Hope it helps.
