Mitosis is also divided into four stages namely prophase, metaphase, anaphase and telophase. Chromosome condensation occurs during prophase. Simultaneously, the centrioles move to the opposite poles. The nuclear envelope and the nucleolus disappear and the spindle fibres start appearing.

ANSWER:
The dissolution of synaptonemal complex takes place in late prophase of meiosis I
EXPLANATION:
- Synaptonemal complex is a protein structure, which is formed between the homologous chromosomes.
- This process occurs in pacytene phase of first meiotic prophase in both female and males gametes.
- The synaptonemal complex is "tripartite structure" which has two parallel lateral region and the central element.
- Some times on chemical like bisphenol A exposure synaptonemal complex tend to damage.
