The states which grew opium without the influence of British were:
● Rajasthan; and
● Gujarat
The British used to force Indian Farmers to grow opium on their fields as they had made the chinese accustomed with the taste of opium.
At first British forced farmers of Bengal to grow opium on their fields as they wanted to sail it to Chinese ports. As the demands grew in China for the opium British forced Indian farmers to grow more opium.
Along with Bengal the farmers of Bihar were also forced to grow the opium.
The only states which grew opium without any British influence were Rajasthan and Gujarat.
