In the plants it is stored as a starch or polysaccharides and in the animal it is stored as a polysaccharides or glycogen.

Explanation:

Starch is a transparent white in colour, granular, tasteless and organic soluble in water and alcohol and other solvents. The chemical formula is  \mathrm{C}_{6} \mathrm{H}_{10} \mathrm{O}_{5}

Glycogen can be found in the granule form in cytosol of the many cells. Hepatocytes(liver cells) contains highest number of glycogen in it.
