On heating ferrous sulphate crystals lose water and ANHYDROUS FERROUS SULPHATE (FeSO4) is formed. So their color changes from light green to white. On further heating this anhydrous ferrous sulphate decomposes to form ferric oxide, sulphur oxide and sulphur trioxide.
