The surfaces that help plants in taking up oxygen from the atmosphere are called stomata.
The stomata are tiny pores in leaves that help in exchanging gases when respiration takes place. Oxygen enters through the pores from the air through stomata and passes on to all the cells through a process called diffusion. Carbon dioxide also gets eliminated into the air from the leaves through stomata.
