Elements can be divided into 3 groups ; metals , non metals and inert gases. Metals are electropositive elements , which means they have a positive charge on becoming an ion and non metals are electronegative elements ie they acquire a negative charge. Noble or inert gases conduct electricity, fluoresce, coloroless and odorless.
