The Physiographic divisions are complementary to each other. The main divisions are

(a) Great Mountain Wall
(b) Northern Plains
(c) Peninsular Plateaus

They are complementary to each other.

(a) The Himalayas provide forests, water, checks soil and wind erosion and mountain the ecology of the country. The rivers descending from the Himalayas have made North Plains very fertile and ideal for agriculture.

(b) The Northern Plains are the granary of lndia. It provides all types of creps and is a very ' productive part of India .

(c) The plateau region isa store house of minerals, which has provided the industrial base to lndia.
