Three are three phases of growth in plants namely, meristematic, elongation and maturation.
Phase of Meristem :
- There both root apex and the shoot apex divides cell constantly.
- They are rich in protoplasm.
- They possess large conspicuous nuclei.
- They have high respiratory rate.
Phase of elongation :
- The cells that are proximal to the Meristematic zone shows the phase of elongation.
- They increase vacuole.
- There the cell enlargement is done.
Phase of maturation :
- The apex that are more proximal to the phase of elongation represents phase of maturation.
- They increase the size in terms of thickening and protoplasmic.
