1. Boiling
Bring the water to a rolling boil for 3-5 minutes. Let cool before drinking.
2. Disinfect
You can use household liquid bleach (regular household bleach contains 5.25% sodium hypochlorite) to kill microorganisms.
3. Distillation
Fill a pot halfway with water. Tie a cup to the handle on the pot’s lid so that the cup will hang right side up when the lid is upside-down. Make sure the cup is not dangling in the water. Boil the water for 20 minutes. The water that drips from the lid to the cup is distilled.

Water purification is the process of eliminating undesired chemicals, biological contaminants, suspended particles, and gases from water.
Explanation:
- Filtration, sedimentation, and distillation are used, as are biological processes such as slow sand filters or biologically active carbon, chemical processes such as flocculation and chlorination, and the use of electromagnetic radiation such as ultraviolet light.
- Today, there are a range of drinking water purification methods accessible, each of which treats and purifies water in a different way.
- Chemical absorption by an activated carbon bed removes contaminants and pollutants from activated carbon filters.
- Using a heat source, distillation filters vaporise and purify water.
- Deionization filters are filters that exchange positive hydrogen and negative hydroxyl water molecules for positive and negative polluted water molecules.
