The tissue whose cells are highly specialised for being stimulated and then transmitting the stimulus from one place to another within the body is called the Nervous Tissue. The three organs which are composed of this tissue are Brain, Spinal Cord and Peripheral Nervous System.

The cells which are contained in the tissue are called neurons.

The combination of nervous tissue and the endocrine system allows animals to move rapidly in response to the stimuli.
