Here's your answer dude!!

a) Water and minerals from roots to the leaves = The Xylem is the tissue that is present in the plant throughout. It begins to take the minerals and water to the stem from the roots present in the plant. Then it slowly carries and transports to branches, and at last the leaves, only Xylem tissue can do this and it does this work everytime when the leaves needs the minerals to prepare their own food.

b) Food from the leaves to the other parts of the plant. = The phloem tissue that is present in the plant does this work. This tissue moves the food which is made by the leaves of the plant to many places of plant or even transports to other plants. This can be done only by the phloem tissue that is common for all the plants. It's just like a server/waiter in a restaurant.
