The Mughal Adminstration was an organised and efficient administration. The king was the head of the administration. The administration was divided into various departments, controlled by the head of the department.
The head of the revenue department was know as Diwan or Diwan-i-Ala. The duty of Diwan was to see the income and expenditure of the State. He used to collect and determine the revenue. Mostly the Diwan was assigned the post of wazir as well.
The head of the Military Department was known as Mir Bakshi. He used to recruit and maintain the army of the Empire.
