  • Tribal communities in the British India who herded or either reared animals for the living included  Van Gujjars of Punjab hills &  Labadis of Andhra Pradesh.

  • Gaddis of Kulu these groups were shepherds & Bakarwals of Kashmir also reared goats for living.
