✨ Peninsular plateau is divided into two divisions. They are the Malwa Plateau and the Deccan Plateau. ✨

⏩ The Malwa Plateau : It is the northern part of the Peninsular Plateau. It is bounded by the Aravalli Range in the west and the Vindhya and Satpura ranges in south. In the north, this plateau merges with the Northern plains. In the east, it continues beyond the Vindhya range as the Chhotanagpur Plateau. To the west of the Aravallis is the That Desert.

⏩ The Deccan Plateau : It lies to the south of the Vindhya and the Satpura ranges. The river Narmada flows through a narrow rift valley between these two ranges of block mountains, and the river Tapi runs through a valley south of Satpuras. These two rivers flow westwards through the rocky areas before entering the Arabian Sea. The Deccan Plateau is bounded by the Western Ghats and the Eastern Ghats on the west and east side respectively. Many rivers arise in the Deccan Plateau. The Deccan Trap region also lies on this plateau.
