Name the two fluids present in the human eye. Where are they located within the eye?
Answers
Fluid fills most of the inside of the eye. The chambers in front of the lens (both the anterior and posterior chambers) are filled with a clear, watery fluid called aqueous humour. The large space behind the lens (the vitreous chamber) contains a thick, gel-like fluid called vitreous humour or vitreous gel.
Answer:
Aqueous humor and vitreous humor are the two fluids present in the eye.
Aqueous humor:-
Aqueous humour is a transparent, watery fluid present between the lens and cornea. The anterior chamber lies between the iris and the inner surface of the cornea. The posterior chamber lies behind the iris and in front of the lens. It has low protein concentrations. It is secreted from the ciliary epithelium. It nourishes lens and cornea. It also maintain intraocular pressure.
Vitreous humor:-
The lens is attached to the ciliary body by ligaments and divides the eye into anterior and posterior compartments. Anterior compartment is also called as aqueous chamber while the one behind the lens is the posterior compartment or vitreous chamber as it is filled with vitreous humour.
