Hey !!
CATALYSIS CAN BE DIVIDED INTO:
- Homogeneous catalysis
- Heterogeneous catalysis
In homogeneous catalysis, the catalyst exist in the same phase as the reacting substance.
2SO₂(g) + O₂(g) --(NO₂)--> 2SO₃(g)
Heterogeneous catalysis involve the catalyst in different phase than that of the reactants
Example :- Decomposition of HI on gold surface.
2HI(g) --(Gold)--> H₂(g) + I₂(g)
GOOD LUCK !!
