Bhagirathi and Alaknanada flowing from Himalayas as tributaries but they again join at Devprayag in Uttrakhand.
The former is known as the source stream that starts from the Himalayan peaks.
Streams are fed from the snow and glaciers located at the peaks called the Nanda Devi and Kamet. Alaknanada also meets at Dhauliganga at the VishnuPrayag.
