The two leaders arrested in Amritsar were Dr.Satyapal and Dr.Saifuddin Kitchlew.Indian nationalists and other Indians had gathered in Jalianwala Bagh on 13 April 1919 to make plans in order to protest the Rowlatt Act.General Dyer entered the park with his troops. They closed the only exit and Dyer ordered his troops to fire without giving any prior warning.Thousands of people were killed and many more were injured , including women and children.
