Answer:

The different ways in which glucose is oxidised to provide energy in various organisms are :

1 . Aerobic respiration - It is done in the presence of oxygen. In this pyruvate ( 3C + E ) is breaked using oxygen. Pyruvate is breaked in mitochondria. Then it may be formed carbon dioxide, water and energy.

2. Anaerobic respiration - It is done in the absence of oxygen. In this pyruvate ( 3C + E ) is breaked in the cytoplasm without oxygen. Then it may be formed carbon dioxide ethanol and energy.

Answer:

Anaerobic respiration

Aerobic respiration

Explanation:

The two ways in which glucose is oxidized to obtain or produce energy are as follows:

1) Anaerobic Respiration: This process involves_the breakdown of glucose into a three-carbon moleculecalled pyruvate in the absence of oxygen and takes place in the cytoplasm.

The pyruvate produced in this way can be converted into ethanol and carbon dioxide.

This process normally occurs in yeast.

This process takes place in absence of oxygen.

2) Aerobic Respiration: In aerobic respiration (in the presence of oxygen), glucose is_broken down into pyruvate and subsequently this pyruvate molecule is broken down to form three molecules of carbon dioxide and water.

This process takes place in presence of oxygen.
