(a) The concave mirrors are used in the headlights of a car to get powerful beams of light.
(b)Convex mirrors are used as side/rear view mirror of a vehicle as convex mirrors always gives an errect, though disminished image. Also, they have a wider view as they are curved outward.
(c)Large concave mirrors are used to concentrate sunlight to produce heat in solar furnaces.

hope helped u :))

The type of mirror used in the following situations and reasons why they are used:

(a) Headlights of a car: Concave mirror is used in the headlights of a car when the bulb is placed at the focus of the concave mirror then it produces lots of strong parallel beams of light at infinity.

(b) Side/rear view mirror of a vehicle: Convex mirror is used as side mirror in vehicles because it produces a diminished of the objects behind this provides a larger field view of the things behind like big buildings and cars etc. This can be very useful for the driver.

(c) Solar Furnace: Concave mirror is used in solar furnace because concave mirror has the ability to converge parallel beams of light onto one point when the object is at infinity. The concave mirror converges the sun rays which come from infinity onto one point on the furnace and all the light rays which get converged provide heat for the furnace.
