Answer: Concave mirrors are used in solar furnace.

Explanation:

Because only the concave mirror is a type of mirror which reflects the light at a single focal point. It collects all the light which is striking at its surface and the mirror reflects it back to the focal point which is very powerful. The reflected light at the focal point in bright and contains a lot of thermal energy which is required in solar furnace.

The object must be near to the mirror than its focal point. Virtual erect and magnified image is formed.

Answer:

Concave mirrors are used in the solar furnace

Explanation:

Reason :

  • Concave mirrors are called as converging mirror
  • If the parallel beam of light were are incident at some angles with principal axis , the reflected rays would converge from a point on principal axis called Focus.
  • So, if utensil is placed at focus, the food gets cooked up faster as the parallel beam of rays converge at Focus.

Ray diagram concept:

object is placed at parallel, then image is formed at infinity.

Please refer the ray diagram for it.
