Hey there !!

TRIANGLE

On the basis of sides,

Triangle are of three types :-

1. Equilateral triangle :- Those triangle in which all the three sides are equal in length, is knowm as equilateral triangle.

2. Isoceles triangle :- Those triangle in which any of the two sides are equal in length, is known as isoceles triangle.

3. Scalene triangle :- Those triangle in which all the sides are unequal in length, is known as scalene triangle.

On the basis of angles,

⇒ Triangle are of three types :-

1. Acute angled triangle :- Those triangle in which all the angles are less than 90° , but greater than 0° , is known as acute angled triangle.

2. Right angled triangle :- Those triangle in which one angle is of 90° , is known as right angled triangle.

3. Obtuse angled triangle :- Those triangle in which one angle is greater than 90° but less than 180°, is known as obtuse angled triangle.

Hence, it is solved.

Answer :

Q: What is a triangle ?
Ans :- A triangle is a simple three-sided closed plane figure. The point of intersection of any two sides of a triangle is called a vertex. Hence, there are three vertices in a triangle.
For example, in ∆ABC, the vertices are A , B and C.

Types of Triangles ▶

1. Based on sides ➤

(i) Scalene trianele ➣ A triangle in which no two sides are equal.

(ii) Isosceles triangle ➣ A triangle in which a minimum of two sides are equal.

(iii) Equilateral triangle ➣ A triangle in which all the three sides are equal.

2. Based on angles ➤

(i) Acute-angled triangle ➣ A triangle in which each angle is less than 90°.

(ii) Right-angled triangle ➣ A triangle in which one of the angles is equal to 90°.

(iii) Obtuse-angled triangle ➣ A triangle in which one of the angles is greater than 90°.

A triangle in which two sides are equal and one angles is 90°, is an isosceles right triangle. The hypotenuse is √2 times of each equal side.
