In terms of area, the Deciduous or Monsoon type of forests occupy a second place.

These forests are there on the lower hills of the Himalayas, Chattisgarh, West Bengal, Orissa, Bihar, Karnataka, Jharkhand, Maharashtra and the nearby places.

The rainfall within all these areas are between 100 cm and 200 cm in a year.

The Teak tree is abundantly found in these places.

Along with that Blue Gum, Sandalwood, Arjun, and Bamboo are also seen.

All these trees shed their leaves during dry winter and summer months.
