Resistivity can be defined as the resistance of a particular material in a given temperature and pressure with specified length and area of cross-section. The formula for resistivity is as follows:
[tex]p = R \frac{l}{a} [/tex]
Here ' p ' denotes Resistivity, ' R ' denotes resistance, ' l ' denotes length
and ' a ' denotes area of cross section.
Since Resistivity is mainily length / area * Resistance.
So SI unit = Ohms * metre / metre²
= Ohms * 1 / metre
= Ohm meter.
