Answer:

Asexual reproduction:

the production of new organism from a single parent without the involvement of gametes is called a sexual reproduction.

Asexual reproduction takes place by different methods:

  • fission
  • budding
  • spore formation
  • regeneration
  • fragmentation
  • vegetative propagation

A) Fission:

In the process of fission, a unicellular organisms splits (devides) to form two or more new organism.

Fission is of two types:

1. binary fission: in binary fission different organisms divides to form two new organism example: amoeba, paramecium etc

2. multiple fission: in multiple fission, the parent organisms (single cell) splits to form many new organism at the same time.

example: plasmodium

B) budding:

In budding, a small part of the body of the parent organism grows out which is called as a bud which then detaches and becomes a new organism.

example: hydra

C) Spore formation:

In spore formation, the parent organism produces hundreds of microscopic reproductive units called spores. when the sporangium of the parent organism bursts, then spores spread into air, they germinate and produce new plants. example: Rhizopus fungus

D) regeneration:

the process of getting back a full organism from its body parts is called regeneration.

Example: the simple animals like Hydra and planaria show this.

E) fragmentation:

the breaking up of the body of a simple multicellular organisms into two (or more) pieces on maturing, each of which subsequently grow to form perform a complete new organisms. The organisms like spirogyra and sea anemone can reproduce by method of fragmentation.

F) vegetative propagation:

in vegetative propagation, new plants are obtained from the parts of old plants without the help of any reproductive organs. Potato tuber can be used for the vegetative reproduction of potato plants. bryophyllum plant can reproduces by leaf.
