Answer:

Explanation:

FACTORS ON WHICH RESISTANCE OF WIRE DEPENDS ARE:-

  • The Wire's Length
  • The Wire's Area
  • The Wire's Resistivity

Formation:-

We need to keep in mind that

  • Resistance is inversely Proportional to Area of the wire
  • More the Area less the resistance of the wire
  • Resistance is Directly Proportional to Length of the wire
  • More the length more the resistance of the wire
  • So Resistance proportional to length/Area
  • Now we need to make it equal
  • So we use a constant rho or resistivity
  • So we have R = rho*l/A

ON WHAT FACTORS RESISTIVITY DEPENDS?

Resistance depends on only one factor that is

  • Nature of the Conductor

Which Materials are Basically used as Resistors?

Nickel is the best material used for making resistors.

So Resistivity, Length and Area are the factors on which resistance depends.

Answer:

The three factors on which resistance of a given wire depends are-

  • Length of the wire
  • Area of cross section
  • Resistivity of the material

Resistance is directly proportional to length of wire and inversely proportional to area of cross section.

If the wire is long then the resistance will be more because of the longer path and electron have to move from one end to another .It will collide and it speed will be reduced.

larger the area of cross section, lower the resistance because electrons have wide area to flow .

The resistivity of material depends on it's nature and the temperature of the conductor.

resistance = rho*L/A

here, rho is the resistance of the material.

L is length of the wire.

A is area of cross section.
