The three heat zones of the earth are classified according to the approximate temperatures of their zones.

 These zones are:

(i) The North and South Frigid Zone [90°N to 66¹/₂°N and 90°S to 66¹/₂°S]

(ii) The North and South Temperate (or Moderate) Zone [66¹/₂°N to 23¹/₂°N and 66¹/₂°S to 23¹/₂°S]

(iii) The North and South Torrid Zone [23¹/₂°N to 0° and 23¹/₂°S to 0°]

North and South Frigid Zone :-
The North Frigid Zone starts from the North Pole of the earth and ends at the Arctic Circle.
The South Frigid Zone begins from the South Pole of the earth and ends at the Antarctic circle.

The North and South Temperate Zone (Moderate Zone) :-
The North Temperate Zone starts from the Arctic Circle and ends at the Tropic of Cancer.
The South Temperate Zone starts at the Antarctic Circle and ceases at the Tropic of Capricorn.

The North and South Torrid Zone :-
The North and South Torrid Zone are continuous, but they are referred to as North and South because the equator passes through them, cutting them into the Northern Hemisphere and Southern Hemisphere.
The North Torrid zone begins at the Tropic of Cancer and lasts till the equator.
The South Torrid Zone begins at the Tropic of Capricorn and ends at the Equator.
