Venezuela - Pico El Aguila (4100 mtrs)

Peru - Abra Malaga Pass (4316 mtrs)

Chile -Agua  Negra Pass (4780 mtrs)

Explanation:

  • Pico El Aguila: A large amount of asphalt road runs from Mérida to the Aguila Pass, where you can stop and see, buy souvenirs and coffee on street stands, admire the bronze statue of a condor or pray at the top of the chapel. The landscape is characterized by páramo with the high altitude shrub frailejón (espeletia schultzii), endemic to Colombia, Ecuador and Venezuela's Andes. It is a beautiful switchback from the peak to Lake Maracaibo all the way down
  • Abra Malaga Pass: There is a spectacular pass on Peru's Continental Divide in South America, where you cross on the' back route' to Machu Picchu (that doesn't have to take trains just like the rest, but to take private or public transportation to Santa Teresa and walk to the remains there). The asphalt road climbs in several hairpin curves after the Inca town of Ollantaytambo, offering a still spectacular view of the Sacred Valley. The road goes east of the summit to an area of neblina— a rugged area of nebuli, puna grasses and fens.
  • Agua Negra Pass: The Agua Negra Pass (Spanish: Paso de Agua Negra) is a pass over the Andes mountains . To improve trade between Chile and Argentina, a 14 km, three-bore vehicular tunnel  below the pass is planned, which will allow year-round traffic which connects Argentina and Chile
